Teenage Relationships in High School

by: Carmina Guerrero

Highschool is a place where teenagers learn and discover new things, not only  about books but about life. So many things happen during highschool but if we think of it, its just the start of living. Relationships are a big part of it. People start to discover the feelings of attraction, infatuation and attachments. To some people, this is misunderstood as love. But whatever you call it, if it benefits oneself in relation to his or her academic performance, and it does not hinder with one's duties as a student, a friend and a child, then it is good.

However, most teenagers encounter relationships that are distracting, distracting to the studies and Christian obligations. Some people engage in immoral acts which bear unwanted consequences in the future. This kind of relationahip should be avoided at all costs.

But if one is faced with the difficulty to break a relationship, then one must think of two things.

1. Go and continue the relationship if one is open to mistakes, is ready to put all efforts to balance things, and be open to new lessons throughout the relationship. It is tiring but if one is willing to take the risk, then it must be worth it in the end.

2. Stop the relationship if one is not ready for it, if one cannot balance priorities, and is not open for change.

Highschool is important. One should think of the future when making decisions. Going into relationships are not necessarily encouraged, but if it will inspire a person to learn and do better things in life, then why not. I would know this for myself.
