BLESSED ARE WE

Dessa Anne Baleros        Senior D

“BE-ATTITUDE” The eight beatitudes of Jesus were given to be able to make these our direction to out values or attitudes. It stressed out how one must live his or her life in the presence of God. In our world today, one cannot avoid hardships and trials. And thus, we tend to look forward on the teachings of Christ. “Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted” This beatitude is significant to my life today. Mourning signifies grief which is created also by our own actions. We are hurt because we are suffering and we regret that things that should have been done. When we mourn, we shall be comforted with God’s love. We will be calmed by God in his presence and all our sorrow will be relieved.
This beatitude could aid me in becoming a saint because when we fall down or mourn, we desire to do what is right and improve ourselves. Having difficulties in present times is only temporary.  We encounter it to make us go stronger. In every action that we make, we could become a saint.
In whatever we do that would please God, there is a corresponding reward. There is a time in my life when everything doesn’t seem to go the right way and everything falls apart. All of the sudden, there is a turn and there is a relief in my life. Though some difficulties aren’t finished, we have the choice to live in goodness.
Out of the eight beatitudes stated in the bible, the most difficult to live for me is “Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the land” There are times that we tend to look down on others and we forget to be humble. Sometimes we can’t control ourselves from temptations and we choose not to be obedient to Christ.
The humankind would change if people take the eight beatitudes seriously. There would definitely a huge impact in the world because it teaches us to be strong in present times. Even if our situation here in our present life may not be good, there is a reward in heaven waiting and it lies on the hands of God because we are worthy, we are blessed.
