PEACEFUL LIVING

Nerissa M. Mendoza Sr-E
Gospel 4

“Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called children of God.” God Himself is all about peace, so in order to be a true child of God, one must be peaceful and promote peace. He made this earth for all of us to live in harmony. He made this earth for us to live in it peacefully and happily.
This beatitude can very much so aid me in becoming a saint in my own way. Saints are known to be kind, caring and of course, peaceful. Being peaceful is somewhat the foundation of being a saint. If you have a peaceful mindset then hate is out of the picture for you. Once hate is out, all the other vices are out as well and only then can you live a truly peaceful life. I know being a saint does not mean you are just a peacemaker; it means that you are a lot of things well. But if I am a peacemaker then everything else (good characteristics) will just come to me.
In general, I concretize these beatitudes in my everyday life. I may not do so all at once but I do one at a time. For example, my sisters just had a fight recently, and I was there too. I did not join in the fight but instead; I tried to talk them out of it. Happily, it kind of worked out. They did not exactly resolve their problem, but they did stop the arguing and cooled off first.
“Blessed are they who are persecuted for the sake of righteousness, for theirs is the Kingdom of heaven.” As much as I want to be a martyr for Christ I don’t think I am ready to give my life up. I believe that I have so much to do and I am still very young. I will just find a way to live the other 8 beatitudes.
The impact of these 8 Beatitudes on the world, if followed, will be great. Not only will we live peacefully but I am sure the world will be productive as well. The world will be able to work according to God’s plan. People will be able to live and be called, deservingly, children of God.
