She’s a Mother in a Different Way
Mary has been known as the mother of Jesus and of all. She has been given countless titles for all of the things she has done for our world, and others may not even realize her importance in our Christian life. If not for her, Jesus would not have been born. A prophecy, a promise, wouldn’t have been fulfilled if it weren’t for her.As a child, I’ve grown up with the thinking that Mother Mary is my second mother, but I lacked understanding. I always wondered why, but I never really bothered to ask. I thought that maybe I was just too young to understand. But growing up, I slowly understood the meaning and she gained another role in my life.
I feel that Mother Mary has been fulfilling her role in life by not only protecting her children but also all the mothers out there. She has set such a good example to all the mothers in the world. She sacrificed her own Son to save all of us – people she didn’t know. She has put so much faith in Him, and she inspires my mother and me. I look up to her. I want to be able to put my faith in Him the way she did. And when I become a mother, I hope I can also be like her – protective, caring, loving, and faithful.
What I love about Mother Mary is that she is one who will never judge; one who will never condemn wrong doings; one who understands everything that I am going through. I can talk to her about anything without the feeling of the need of prudence or discretion. I find tranquility when I talk to her. It feels as though my burden was gone. She never fails to make me feel that everything is going to be okay.
Whether I am problematic or happy, I can count on her being there. Mother Mary is always there for me even if she’s intangible. That’s what makes her different from the rest of the mothers.
