I believe that the "iron-fist method" should be used on a certain type of child. Not all children react the same way, therefore different tactics should be employed on different types of children. If ever the iron-fist method works for a child, I suggest explaining to the child why this had to happen. In every method used, reasons for why it was used should be explained. Most children respond to simple explanations right away, if not over a long stretch of time. But honestly for me, before the iron-fist method be used, all other methods should be tried first, because I don't believe in lowering the self-esteem and self-confidence of children, since they will most likely present themselves as problems when he/she grows up.
