Mother Mary is, as I see it, a mother to all. She is not the redeemer; but she is the reason that man can experience salvation through Jesus Christ. If it were not for her, then we probably would not have salvation. I’m not all too close to the Virgin Mary- she is someone I was introduced to in my later life, so I do not know if I can make a deep connection with her, even as a Catholic. But I try to include her in my life- for I acknowledge her as the Mother of Christ.
I am not in the mind set that she is the ‘co-redeemer’; but to indulge in this might only bring me sin so I will not expound on my view on this matter. Mother Mary is not someone I would pray to; but she is someone I am grateful to; as it is plain to see that I do acknowledge her as the one who allowed Christ to become wholly human, thus, allowing our salvation through him.
To end, my relationship with Mother Mary is one of gratitude and respect yet never really bordering on worship like with some people who truly think she is a co-redeemer along side Christ. For me, she is just someone we must be grateful to; that is my humble opinion.
