Inheritors of the Land

by: Samuel Oliver V. Tulio

Meekness is one kind of value that a few people obtain. I believe that this beatitude struck me because meekness is what resides in me. Many people say that I’m shy or whatsoever but the truth is that meekness is within me. In my opinion, the meek will inherit the land because of their humility and gentleness that they expressed when they were living.
Meekness is humility and gentleness. Jesus was sent by God to save us from our sin. Jesus was born in a manger as a sign of humility. Jesus is the only God, King and Savior who chose to be poor because He loves us so much. This beatitude can aid me to become a saint by just being my own self. I don’t have to be someone else if I can be my own self.
The 8 beatitudes serve as a guide to us as we journey through life. These beatitudes weren’t made to become just a writing or decoration. These beatitudes were made to be followed and be put inside our hearts. Even though we experience hardships, these sacrifices will serve as points that will be rewarded in time. God has plans for all of us and we just have to wait for it.
In my opinion, to be a peacemaker is a hard achievement to be fulfilled because to stop wars and conflicts needs time to ponder and things to be clarified. Being a peacemaker means that you should be the person that will stop fights and not the person who starts and flames the fights. I believe that doing such thing will be acknowledged be rewarded when the time comes.
Deep inside our hearts is a seed and that seed is needed to change the evil act that resides in us. We have the potential to change and if we only just seriously and religiously put the beatitudes in our heart, we can change the world by making it the place that we all are looking for; the place of eternal life.
