"Blessed are the peacemakers,
for they will be called children of God." Today when violence is rampant all over the world peace can hardly be found. We can practically see an act of violence anywhere we go be it small or big. God gave us a rule and that is to love each and everyone of us because we are children of God and we are all brothers and sisters in His eyes. In general we are all children of God, we are made in His likeness. He gave us life from the very second we are born in our mother's womb. People can never overcome war, there has been wars ever since the beginning of man. This brings about us sin and God is trying to save us from all this evil because He loves us and would not want anything bad to happen to us.
This beatitude is fairly straightforward and its also simple. If I am at peace with the world and everybody I can be one of the children of God. Jesus asked us to love each other as Jesus has loved us. Maintaining peace is not that hard it should always start with one's self. If we are at peace with our mind and body then we can eventually bring peace everywhere. A saint is someone who has done a very good deed that God chose him/her to become a saint. All of them have one in common and that is having peace with self and with others. Without peace, there will be chaos and when there is chaos, sin prevails. Jesus always reminds us to care for each other and not to hurt each other.
Today the world is suffering from different conflicts specially here in our country. Just recently the hostage crisis which took the lives of some Chinese people disregards for this beatitude. The ongoing war between the US and the middle east has not stopped yet and many people are suffering from this. Even in the act of voting for a country's leader violence emerges. God would not be proud of how we are and to think that we are his children. It's like a son is disobeying his father. Would not the father feel bad that his son, the one he brought about in this world, the one whom he taught all the good values, and would just disappoint the father?
"Blessed are the clean in heart for they shall see God" Primarily because it is hard to be always good. Nowadays everywhere we go there is temptation around us. It is very hard to resist theses temptations. That is why having a clean heart, free from the sin we see is hard to attain but we should not lose hope. God is there for us to guide us and to teach us the right things because we are his Father. He will never abandon us no matter what happens.
If the world will just religiously follow these simple yet rewarding beatitudes we would no longer suffer any hardships, problems and dilemmas. God would be very happy and proud that His children would live like Him. Our lives would be very great. Each one of us would never feel sadness, hurt and anger. The world would again be at peace and harmony just as it was like when God created it.
