Future of Humankind Relies on Jesus

by: Dessa Baleros

The gospel this Sunday came from the book of Luke. Jesus said to the people, while they were remarking about how the temple is made of precious stones, that there will come a day when none of these stones will be left. One of them asked Jesus when that day will be and what will be the signs that the end would be neat. Jesus said that there would be a chaotic environment where there would be war, earthquakes, famine and plagues everywhere. Though these terrible things are happening, the believers of Christ will be saved.
Nothing is permanent as they say. Things change and things will definitely come to an end. At the start of the gospel, it shows the worldliness of humankind. The precious stones signify the material things that aren’t essential once the world will come to an end. Though there are destructions that will happen, Jesus will redeem each believer. All things are passing and God, our Heavenly Father is everlasting.
Jesus is “the Alpha”, which means the beginning, and “the Omega”, which means the end. Each of us will go back to His presence. As Christian believers, we should have faith that Jesus would save us in the future. No one knows when the end will be. We must not worry about it as long as we have strong assurance in God. God is in control. We must do things for the betterment of the world as early as now. In the simplest thing we do, we must offer it to God.
There will come a time that our life will be taken away here on Earth. Therefore, we must not be afraid for God, who gave us life, will save us. Live your life as if it is your last because nobody knows what will happen in the future. Sometimes people tend to be afraid of what will happen in the following years, months, weeks, days, hours or minutes. Maybe in a glimpse of an eye the world might end. That is we must be prepared all of time.
