“Parental Love”

Pablo Julius Gabriel III Sr-E 12

Force is something that has been used to get things done quickly or easily. It has been a staple among people with power to get what they want and need no matter what the consequences may be. These may include taking things without permission, using an ideology, or simply just using brutal force to make people submit to them without choice. This can be seen today in families, more specifically with parents towards their children. This force is not as brutal as the ones exemplified by dictators, but it employs the same idea. It allows the parents to use any force necessary to make their kids follow them. This is why I am opposed to parents using an iron fist or force to discipline their children. I oppose it because using force will not discipline children, it will only traumatize them. It will give them bad memories of their childhood and make them have disdain for their parents. Force should only be used if it is truly needed, like when the child is fighting or hurting his or her parent with out reason, but if it is used just to order the child around then that makes it very wrong and unnecessary. Children are God’s gifts to parents, and gifts should never be regarded as trash which is why we should show our kids the utmost love and care that they deserve because in the end it will be children who be taking care of  parents when the time comes.
