The Abyss of Contradictions

Jarviña, Lady Joyce Noele M. (CL Sy:2010-2011 2nd Term HW # 2)

Cn 14 Senior B

For a period of time the Philippines has been experiencing the radical growth of the population. The economy of our country has been going down ever since. Unfortunately, the present generation may have lost their morality and they may have been doing what they think satisfies them. This may be wrong and I may be a catholic but, as a concerned citizen of our country, I am for the RH Bill.

It was stated in the 1899 constitution that there will be a separation between the church and the state. This Article was also included in our present constitution, which is the 1987 constitution. I have noticed that the church always gets itself involve in such political activities. Thus a great tumult arose with in the people of this country.
If the church thinks about it carefully, they have no right to overrule the head of the state. It is practically expedient to abate the population by using such contraceptives. I believe that the RH bill is one of the few actions we can do to evade future woe and that President Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III should push through with this bill. The church has made a list of encyclicals that talks protecting the poor and bringing the economy up with equality. What the president is trying to do is to constitute a better economy for the benefit of the people in this country, not only the rich but also the poor. Therefore, Binigno Aquino is actually doing what is in those encyclicals.

There are a lot of opposing citizens fighting for what they believe. But what is really needed by our mutilated country? It is unity! The church should just continue on with their mission to spread the word of the Lord. Are they afraid that if the RH Bill will get approved they will lose Christians? Well, we have a strong faith in God. The church should also have a strong faith on the people whom they have been bestowing Christianity to. They won’t lose the true Christians at heart. And let’s face it, not every person in the Philippines is part of the Christian community. Other religions have their rights to be respected. The RH bill just serves as an option for the people to do what is practical and help engender the Philippines as a utopia. Let us not cease the inevitable.
