The gospel tells us about how in our society today that the separation of the rich and the poor is very far. The rich man didn’t notice Lazarus even if Lazarus was just at his gate eating his leftovers. When Lazarus and the rich man died; Lazarus went to heaven and the rich man went to hell. Abraham reminded the rich man that he was given all the blessing but he didn’t share any of them to Lazarus or any of the poor and that is why he went to hell.
From what I understand the gospel shows us that God gives everyone a chance everyday to do what is right and help the needy. The rich man never noticed Lazarus because he was too busy with himself and was selfish. It shows that we should learn how to be unselfish and start helping other people. It
As La Sallian I will share all the blessings I receive and help as much as I can to those who are in need. I will be unselfish and be humble about the blessings. If I were the rich man I will be more aware about the people around me and think more about other people.
