CL Gospel Reflection 2 – October 3, 2010
“Lord God, have Faith in me!”
This Gospel tells us that Jesus helps people increase their faith by obeying all the teachings and values of God. It is being related to slavery and freedom. People just believed and followed what Jesus says. No faith in God’s presence would mean sad impression of Him.
Jesus speaks quite naturally, within the framework of the situation of his time regarding slavery. Slavery was a shocking element in all the societies of the Ancient World. It is a property of a master and has no personal rights.
We, La Sallians, are called to see where we stand before God. That we are creatures, we are dependent on God for everything. Scriptures teach that we have strayed away from God. When God sends his Son to us, it is wholly his Graciousness. After which, we can see that God really has high regard for our lowliness and lifts us up to the Lord, in order for us to increase our Faith in him.
So walk by faith and not by what you see, trust your heart and let yourself believe.
Lord, please have your way, Lord God have faith in me.
