Who is Mary? For most of us, she is Jesus’ mother. I wish I could say I had a deeper relationship with her, but I would be lying. But, I do realize the big role she played in our lives, and how dedicated she was to fulfilling the task God gave her.
Mary was the mother of Jesus. May not seem like much, but an angel appearing to you and telling you that you would have a child with no sexual relations? Nowadays people would think you were crazy if that happened to you, and you’d probably believe it yourself. Mary was conceived without sin. Can you believe that? Most of us sin a bazillion times a day, and we probably wouldn’t even notice it, or think that it is a big thing! Mary had a good life, and she was young, merely sixteen. To have a child is a big responsibility, especially if you’re in the process of engagement.
Mary trusted in God so much, which is one trait I think we should all try and develop. Also, she could’ve possibly lost her marriage, and many people would’ve seen her as a dirty woman for having an unexplained child. Mary embodies the respect, admiration and reverence that we should present to God everyday. For me, without Mary’s immense love, we wouldn’t have had Jesus, and that makes all the difference in the world.
