God Knows Best

Excellent work by: John Paul Ursua
This gospel tells us the significance of faith in our lives. At the start of the gospel, the apostles asked Jesus to increase their faith. Thus, He told them that people who have faith, even though such faith may be just as small as mustard seed, are still capable of doing great things. Also, he told them about the relationship between the master and the servant.
At some points in our lives, we probably have already experienced being down and stressed because of all the problems that had come our way, yet even though we are always tempted to do what is bad so that everything would become easier, we still do know that it is a part of our mission as Christians to do what is good. Thus, we end up being confused as to whether we should choose the wrong way because it makes everything else easier for us, or the right way because it is the way of God. This could be the apostles’ dilemma during that time, causing them to ask for Jesus to increase their faith. Jesus then strongly calls for us to continue doing what is right even though it means having more problems because in the end, a much better reward will be given to us. Aside from having faith in God, we should also have faith in ourselves. God gave us skills and talents to nourish. Although there may be times when circumstances, or even people, would try to make us feel inferior or hopeless, we should still be determined and confident to what God has given us.
Now in relation to our lives today, I believe that Jesus calls and challenges us to continue doing what is right with great love and to trust in Him, for He knows what is best for us. Even though temptations tend to be present most of the time, we should remain steadfast faithful to the teachings of the Lord. Moreover, we should also strive to remain faithful to the Lord even in times of trouble because He will always be there for us. In relation to our talents, I believe we are also called to take care of the precious talents that God has given us even though others at times tend to not care. We just have to be patient and hopeful, so that someday, we may finally show to the world our talents that God has given us.
Although at times we feel as though the world does not value us, we should not be worried and sad because we have already been one of God’s greatest valuables ever since we were born. All we have to do is to have faith, for God knows what’s best for us.
