CL MINOR PROJECT #1: TEENAGE DREAM
As kids, we had so many dreams. Dream of being a doctor, a teacher, a dentist, a lawyer, an engineering or something else. But like us, these dreams change too. At this point, us senior students are already contemplating on what career path we would be taking. Going to college is both exciting and nerve-wracking. Out there, we are on our own. Life won’t be as we know it. And we should be prepared.

When I was young I was so sure of becoming a teacher, then it changed when I was in 5th grade, I said I wanted to be a doctor. I had so many dreams and desires in between, but when I entered high school, my head and heart was set on becoming a magazine editor.

I have never liked math, or anything associated with numbers. I will spend minutes and hours trying to decode a math equation, but I will end up not doing it at all. But if you give me a sheet of paper, a pen, and leave me for a while, the next thing you know I have come up with some doodle, or some lines, or even a poem of some sort. I am not an expert, but I know I have the passion to do this.

I know this kind of job is something that you work hard for, I must start at the bottom and work my way up. I found inspiration in the movie The Devil wears Prada. I learned from the movie that working in a fashion magazine is not all about glitz and glamour. You must be persistent, determined, innovative, hardworking, and most of all patient.

You are not a fool if you want to chase a teenage dream. As teens we tend to dream and aspire a lot, we want to be a lot of things and have a lot of things. I think that holding on to these dreams is good for us since it serves as a goal, a thing we should have, and this can inspire us to be better and to strive harder.

As we fill up our college applications and take our entrance tests, I think we should keep in mind what we want to do for the rest of our lives, what do we want to share to our family and friends. Though I know it will be hard to really follow my teenage dream, I would do something extraordinary in order to get something I’ve always wanted to have.
