Kyle Venjamin Mamawal RH bill reaction
There has been a lot of buzz regarding the pursuance of the Reproductive health bill. This bill is supporting the use of birth controls and other methods in order to prevent unwanted births contributing to over population. One of the biggest groups who oppose this bill is the church. They believe that the passing of this bill will lead to legalized abortion which we know is a sin against nature. This is why they have threatened to excommunicate President Benigno Aquino III for supporting the RH bill. The president is looking at the issue from a different perspective. He believes that passing this bill will contribute to the economy. Since birth control will be popularized, poverty will diminish in number and also the population will no longer so excessive thus improving our economy. As a youth, I must admit that I am not yet thinking about these kinds of issues but I am still in favour of the RH bill being passed. But really, it is up to the people to prevent these unwanted births. Each one of us must learn to be more responsible when faced with situations of the sexual manner. Through my own process of Pros and Cons, I have realized that both sides have benefits as well as consequences. For one, the use of contraceptives can bring harm to the body but also without it, conception of a child is highly plausible. There is a large number in the population who are sexually active which is why this issue should be not taken lightly. Financial stability should first be acquired before pursuing sex. Unfortunately, most couples are not taking this into consideration. One of the reasons for this is because of our not so productive economy. Since jobs are hard to come by these days, unemployment is a growing issue. Without jobs, people cannot achieve financial stability and therefore cannot support a child. I hope that those addressing this issue will quickly find a way to resolve it so that the Filipino people can learn and benefit from it.
