Gospel reflection 3
(Lk.17:5-10)
See: A story was told about a mustard seed and a servant. The Mustard seed had so much faith that even the most unlikely things he believed in took place. The mulberry tree was able to uproot itself and transfer location. While in the case of the servant, it was shown that the servant didn’t question the commands of his master. He just believed and followed.
Judge: Faith is intangible. It can’t be measured in anyway; however, this gospel calls us to have a lot of faith. A lot of faith in a sense that, it is this faith that would allow us to follow God’s will undoubtedly. Some people may think that following God’s plan without being skeptical is turning a blind eye, or being ignorant; however, these people are truly missing the essence of what faith really is. Our Christian faith allows us to surpass these doubts by believing in the inherent goodness of God. Like the servant in the story, we should not question the authority, and reasons why God calls us to do things (like Abraham). We must always allow our Faith to see past the milestones caused by skepticism, science, and reason, for GOD IS GOOD, and it is through this same faith that we are saved.
Act: After reading this Gospel, I am forced to make a swift, but unequivocal realization that Faith is the key to understanding, and salvation. Before reading this gospel, I was honestly lost. Lost amidst the nature of the scientific world and reason (especially because we were subject to philosophy classes), I was in doubt of the existence of God; however, after reading this gospel, I came to realize that these scientific theories are just a bunch of baloney! Before this gospel, I was in constant search for the data or evidence that could prove or disprove God, but in reality the only thing that can is my Faith.
Conclusion: In relation to the Wright brothers, we all must have faith in everything we do, especially when it comes to God. In the face of diversity, the Wright brothers never gave up. It is their failure that allowed them to strive harder and succeed. In my case, I see this as the nature of Faith. Faith may not come right away; however, with this faith we are assured success and someday salvation.
