Excellent Gospel Reflection of Bryan Reyes Sr-C

Gospel Reflection (October 3)
Bryan Reyes Sr-C

The gospel this Sunday talks about our faith and gratitude towards God. It tries to enlighten and strengthen our faith in God. The gospel mentions the relationship of slaves to master, that a slave will do anything for him to please his master since his master will reward him for such acts of obedience, although he does not expect his master to give thanks to him.

Clearly, the gospel teaches us to have faith in God and to be thankful for Him. You may have the faith the size of a mustard seed, if you let this mustard seed grow within you, if you nourish this mustard seed, your faith will become a significant tree. There may be hindrances towards the strengthening of our faith, but as set by a living example through Nick Vujicic, who has no arms and legs, that even though some disabilities or hardships in life set us back, we should not lose hope. We should strive harder in live to succeed. Although failures may come our way, these failures would lead us to success in the long run. And finally, we should not forget to thank God for our blessings. We should learn to appreciate what He has provided us with in our lives.

The challenge of this Sunday’s gospel is for me to trust God. Despite all the problems in life, I should always remember that there are people who are in a much worse dilemma. Blaming God for the unfortunate events will not do me good, especially in terms of my relationship with God. I should live life with a positive view in things and I should not let simple shortcomings bring me down.

In life, there may be things that can bring us down but we should never forget that God is there for us. Through all of it, no matter what the outcome, we should never forget to thank God for He is only putting us to the test and we should respond with finesse.
