Agatha Cortez Excellent Gospel Reflection on he Rich Man and Lazarus

I think this gospel reflection serves as a lesson to the wealthy people contributing to the widening gap of the rich and poor. For instance, the corrupt government officials are stealing money for their self-interests. Instead of reaching out to the concerns of poor ones, they just think of themselves.

We, in the present day are forgetting our purpose. We are here to live as one unity. We should close the gap of the rich and the poor. It was a great story, for it gives us self realizations after reading the story.

The rich man is very self-centered. He doesn't think of the others lives, like Lazarus. He gives no concern for lazarus because he's only concerned about himself. He thinks that servants should be treated that way forever.

He's not sorry for the way he treated Lazarus because even though they were dead and he's not in heaven, he still treated Lazarus the same way.

I think his brothers will just follow his footsteps because based on the story, the rich man wanted his brothers to be saved. Therefore, his brothers are very close to him. When the rich man was still alive, maybe his brothers saw the way he lives, and so there's a possibility that they will just follow him.

As lasallians, we are challenged to release ourselves from self-centeredness. We are called to serve one another. We are challenged to stop inequality in school. We should stop judging people and give them chances to explain their selves.

If I were lazarus, I might do the thing as well since I am just a servant and have nowhere else to go. If I were the rich man, I would give sympathy and help to Lazarus since he really needs it. We should be kind and concerned with other peoples lives. We should love them as much as we love ourselves and God.
