Why Was Hiroshima Bombed?

Why Was Hiroshima Bombed?
By: Cloyd Uyson

Hiroshima was bombed primarily in retaliation to what the Japanese soldiers did to the entire world, damaging and almost destroying lives and everything about it during the second world war from almost all if not most of the countries around the world. Together with Hiroshima that was destroyed by atomic bomb was Nagasaki which was another important city of Japan. These two infamous cities after the atomic bomb dropped into them turned into an ocean. These two cities were practically erased from the map because of the intense and extreme effects of the said powerful weapon. His is something that the war cannot do namely to turn back the destroyed lives, places, homes, families, livelihoods, livestock’s and the like.

Hiroshima is a symbol of hatred, bitterness, pain, challenge and hope. After the Hiroshima bombing the world got shocked in view of the painful effects of the atomic bomb. Japan from then onward promised not to wage war again with any other nation lest another atomic bomb may threaten their other remaining cities. In war everyone is a loser simply because of the fact that there will never be a winner in this battle.

Hiroshima’s bombing should be a good lesson for all the countries of the world because of its extreme effect not only to the country involved but to the generations that are about to come. If we will not be mindful of the lessons of yesterday we will repeat those mistakes in the future. Hence to truly make the Hiroshima experience a milestone of learning, we must imprint in our hearts and minds the many innocent lives lost during that fateful day when that powerful atomic bombs were angrily dropped off to Hiroshima and Nagasaki as well. Let us not forget the cries and pleas of those innocent lives who were the poor victims of our stupidities.
