Once there was a kid called John in a school called Meriwether college who didn't have a very easy life since he was a kid he didn't have any friends,he was always bullied,he was always teased but this one day will change his life forever.One day John was walking towards the table he usually sits but then this huge guy goes right In front of him and pushes him to the ground and he laughed together with his friends.John lies there not knowing what to do and just feeling embarrassed to the kids watching him then he says “why does these things always happen to me”.And then a popular student passes by him then john asks for help and then when the popular notices him,he  says this "I'm too popular to pick you up" then he just walks ahead..And then a student who is just like john who has no friends passes by him and he did the same thing ask for help but the student says "If I pick you up people will just tease me more"  then did the same thing the popular student did just walk ahead as if not seeing john there.And then this new student called Matthew passes by and john did not ask for help expecting none but Matthew stops in front of John and says this "Are you alright?Let me help you up".And so the new student helps John up and brings him to a table even with everyone watching in disgust.At the table John looks at Matthew and says "Why are you helping me I'm a loser,aren't you embarrassed?" and the student replied "sometimes it's better doing the right thing even if it gets you embarrassed".And then the next day John was walking towards the lunch table again then the same guy appears the one who was bigger and taller compared to john but this time when the bully was about to push John down he stopped him and told him “how would you feel if you were me wouldn’t you feel miserable if you are then why do you keep doing this to me please just stop I didn’t do anything wrong to you.But still the bully pushed John again and this anger inside John grew and grew until he couldn’t handle it anymore he just wanted to push the guy back,but a suddenly John heard a voice telling him “John don’t do this you know what is the right thing to do “.Then John realized that if he pushed the bully then he would just be a bully too since he is doing the same thing the bully is doing,so what John did was he stood up and just walked away.The bully was shocked at John’s reaction and since then the bully realized the wrong things he has been doing and regretted it so since then the bully never bothered John again.

Reflection: My reflection is that it is better doing the right thing even if it gets you embarrassed because your not only helping a person but you are making me feel better which is a good deed since God has been doing it when he lived.He never stopped helping and curing people even if they are disliked people in the community like sinners.And what you do makes you who you are,so when you always do the right thing people will remember and know you in a good way.And also always remember the right things to do when you are in a situation where you are about to do a right thing.And also don’t be afraid to stand up and defend yourself from people who are hurting you physically and emotionally but don’t defend physically but by making them realize the things they have been doing so they could reflect and change their ways.

The month of October each year is dedicated to the Most Holy Rosary. This is primarily due to the fact that the liturgical feast of Our Lady of the Rosary is celebrated annually on October 7th. It was instituted to honor the Blessed Virgin Mary in gratitude for the protection that she gives the Church in answer to the praying of the Rosary by the faithful. The feast was introduced by Pope St. Pius V (1504-1572) in the year 1571 to commemorate the miraculous victory of the Christian forces in the Battle of Lepanto on October 7, 1571. The pope attributed more to the "arms" of the Rosary than the power of cannons and the valor of the soldiers who fought there. Legend tells us that the Rosary as a form of prayer was given to St. Dominic (1170- 1221) by Mary, the Mother of Our Lord, who entrusted it to him as an aid in the conflicts with the Albigensians. The Dominican pope, St. Pius V, did much to further the spread of the Rosary and it thereafter became one of the most popular devotions in Christendom. It was the same Pope St. Pius V, who in 1569 officially approved the Rosary in its present form with the Papal Bull, CONSUEVERUNT ROMANI PONTIFICES. It had been completed by the addition of the second half of the "Hail Mary" and the "Glory be to the Father" at the conclusion of each mystery.

Current scholarship traces the development of the Rosary to the High Middle Ages where it came into being in various medieval monasteries as a substitute for the Divine Office for the lay monks and devout lay persons who did not know how to read. Instead of the 150 psalms, they would pray 150 "Our Fathers" counting them on a ring of beads known as the crown or "corona." With the growth of popularity of Marian devotion in the twelfth century, the "Psalter of the Blessed Virgin Mary" developed now substituting 150 "Hail Marys" in place of the "Our Fathers."

The 150 "Hail Marys" were subsequently subdivided into 15 decades by the young Dominican friar, Henry Kalkar (1328-1408), with each decade referring to an event in the life of Jesus and Mary. The Dominican, Alanus de Rupe (1428-1478) further divided the episodes in the history of salvation into the joyful, sorrowful and glorious mysteries. He also attributed the origin of the Rosary, then known as the "Psalter of the Blessed Virgin" to St. Dominic and thus spurred the Dominican Order to make the Apostolate of the Rosary  their special concern. The Dominicans have, since then, promulgated the Rosary with notable results.

The practice of dedicating the entire month of October to the Holy Rosary developed toward the end of the last century. Pope Leo XIII (papacy: 1878-1903) strongly promoted the increase of devotion to the Blessed Mother by encouraging the constant use of the Rosary.

Beginning on September 1, 1883, with SUPREMO APOSTOLATUS OFFICIO, he wrote a total of eleven encyclicals on the Rosary , ending with DIUTURNI TEMPORIS in 1898. We are currently celebrating the centennial of these papal encyclicals.

Many other popes have contributed to help increase devotion to the Rosary by their writings. In the recent past, Pope Paul VI ( papacy: 1963-1978) devoted the last section of his Apostolic Exhortation MARIALIS CULTUS to the Angelus and the Rosary (MC 40-55). In this document, he wrote that "the Rosary retains an unaltered value and intact freshness." (MC, 41)

The Rosary is primarily a scriptural prayer. This can be summarized by the traditional phrase used by Pope Pius XII (papacy: 1939-1958) that the Rosary is " a compendium of the entire Gospel" (AAS 38 [1946] p. 419). The Rosary draws its mysteries from the New Testament and is centered on the great events of the Incarnation and Redemption.

John Paul II called the Rosary his favorite prayer, in which we meditate with Mary upon the mysteries which she as a mother meditated on in her heart (Lk. 2:19) (Osservatore Romano, 44; 30 Oct. 1979).

In this month of October, let us consider this beautiful prayer of the Rosary as a means that we too can use in order to draw closer to Jesus and Mary by meditating on the great mysteries of our salvation.

The word Rosary means "Crown of Roses". Our Lady has revealed to several people that each time they say a Hail Mary they are giving her a beautiful rose and that each complete Rosary makes her a crown of roses. The rose is the queen of flowers, and so the Rosary is the rose of all devotions and it is therefore the Most important one.

The Holy Rosary is considered a perfect prayer because within it lies the awesome story of our salvation. With the Rosary in fact we meditate the mysteries of joy, of sorrow and the glory of Jesus and Mary. It's a simple prayer, humble so much like Mary. It's a prayer we can all say together with Her, the Mother of God.

With the Hail Mary we invite Her to pray for us. Our Lady always grants our request. She joins Her prayer to ours. Therefore it becomes ever more useful, because what Mary asks She always receives, Jesus can never say no to whatever His Mother asks for.

In every apparition, the heavenly Mother has invited us to say the Rosary as a powerful weapon against evil, to bring us to true peace. With your prayer made together with Your heavenly Mother, you can obtain the great gift of bringing about a change of hearts and conversion. Each day, through prayer you can drive away from yourselves and from your homeland many dangers and evils.

It can seem a repetitive prayer but instead it is like two sweethearts who many times say one another the words: "I love you"...
A devout exercise to perform praying the Rosary to obtain any request is the "54-day Rosary Novena" in honor of Our Lady of Pompeii.
You can find the History of the Rosary reading the Secret of the Rosary of Saint Louis Grignion de Montfort. The Holy Father John Paul II with the Apostolic Letter ROSARIUM VIRGINIS MARIAE of 10/16/2002 has added 5 new mysteries of the Rosary: The Mysteries of the Light.

Original Title: “THE REUNION”

Inspired by the following Biblical stories:
1. Good Samaritan
2. Presentation of Jesus
3. Finding of Jesus in temple

 Matthew is an only child. His parents are both very busy in their respective fields. His father is an executive in a bank while his mother is a doctor who specializes in the bones. Matthew is very accomplished too as he gets very high grades. He is always the school representative in general knowledge competitions and often brings home medals. Though they are all successful, Matthew is very lonely because he is often alone at home. His parents are always working late. One day, his parents told him that they will be going to a family reunion to meet to relatives he has not met. He was looking forward to spending time with his family and relatives.

In the reunion, his parents introduced him to his relatives that he hasn’t met before. He played games with his cousins, like hide and seek and more. He had a delightful dinner because of the presence of his relatives. He showed his talents like his ability to do magic tricks particularly making the coin disappear. He was able to share many stories because of his wide vocabulary and his being well read. After a long period of enjoyment, Matthew’s family had to leave because it has been getting late. They left the mall and headed to the bus terminal to wait for the bus. Once the bus arrived, a big crowd rushed to get inside the bus and as they were going in Matthew got separated from his parents. Since the crowd had pinned him away, he was unable to get in and the bus had already left. He looked around for shelter so he ended up sitting by the entrance of the mall.

As the night goes on Matthew the security guard approached him. They talked on why Matthew was alone. After their talk the security guard promised to protect him while they were waiting for him to be reunited with his parents. The security guard is one who cares about other before himself. The security guard shared his food with Matthew so that he can survive the night. After they eat, Matthew fell asleep so the guard gave him his jacket. He didn’t want Matthew to get cold at night. The guard kept Matthew company until the morning when he woke up. By the time he woke up he saw a taxi. When the taxi stopped, the door opened and he saw his mother. They ran to each other in happiness. When his parents have already found him,  they ask him,  “Why have you done this?”.  Matthew replied “What has happened to me is a big challenge in my life. I tried to handle myself in the world.” His parents were very happy even if this had been a big problem. They are just relieved to find him ok and be reunited. They thanked the security guard who had protected him. After that, Matthew and his family went into paradise reunited again.

Reflection
My story reflects on the 3 biblical stories I love namely Good Samaritan, Presentation of Jesus, and Finding of Jesus in the temple. We all have challenges in our lives we all have to face. These challenges test us on how we can adapt on God’s test to see if we are worthy of being his servant. These days we see people rarely act like the Good Samaritan. All of these challenges are a lesson to us for the future and we will be prepared for God’s gift of eternal life.

As a child to my parents I will see to it to be obedient as well in all their advice so that in the end I will not regret with whatever consequence that my actions may bring because my parents will only have good intentions for me.

Note. The man was not legally cleansed and able to return to society until the priest examined him. The Law of Moses provided for a ceremonial ritual to be performed by the priest for one who was cured of leprosy.

Touching a leper was prohibited for it caused defilement (uncleanness) in the one who did the touching. However, Jesus in his compassion touched the man and healed him, remaining undefiled. If we allow Jesus to touch our lives, we, too, can be cleansed by his righteousness.

What is a story? A story is defined as a narrative or tale of real or fictitious events.
Stories are a nourishment for our hungry souls. Often stories we regard as fiction have elements of truth dressed up to make them more palatable.
Stories are magic, taking us everywhere: backwards, forwards or happening right in the present time, transporting us to many places and situations we might never go.
The teller is the magician, creating an atmosphere in which anything is possible. When storytelling is presented well a special kind of energy develops between the teller and the audience it really is magic.
Telling stories is like taking a group of people to the cinema. You can think of storytelling as a piece of film being projected on to a screen. The vision of the script writer and director are what the audience sees and interprets.
In a similar way the storyteller shows the pictures seen in his or her mind and passes them to the listeners' minds for interpretation. Each time the story is told the words change, according to the way the teller visualises the images passing through his or her mind. The teller tailors the story to suit that particular audience.


What is a catalyst? A "catalyst" is something that instigates or initiates change in a situation, almost immediately. A catalyst provokes an action that propels change at a faster rate. Catalysts can work in both directions, negatively and positively. You've probably seen a catalyst interact in someone's life, like a motor vehicle accident. The motor vehicle accident can propel change in that person's life, altering it forever within just a moment's time.

In the Bible, Jesus served as a significant catalyst for change. He performed many miracles that instantly changed people's lives. He healed the sick; He delivered the demon possessed; He fed five thousand people; He spoke life and redemption into sinful situations; this list could go on. We read the Bible and are often envious of the cataclysmic events Jesus enabled in people's lives for the better.

You will write your own original story that may become a source of change in today’s society as it is inspired by a particular Biblical story or a specific lesson from the Holy Bible.
Every youth wants to know the real. But more importantly, youth should want to be the real. We live in a world that pushes itself into the lives of individuals, blinding them of what life is really all about. When you are a catalyst, you are affecting change around you and in your world, without allowing yourself to be changed.
